Selfies, Hoe-down, Gaylord, Etc

Some documentation of how we've been getting through this winter:

An early January hike to check out the beaver pond.
Daddy and Mabel taking some Selfies:

The Girl Scouts had a Hoe-Down in the elementary cafeteria.  We all went and had a great time, even Mabel who spent most of the time raiding the snacks table and laying waste to the fruit trays.

Sledding in the back yard:

Mabel's second time at the Dentist, but first time she let them touch her teeth.  She was one cool customer!

Our annual February trip to Michigan:
A very stylish traveler.  Though all the jewelery she insisted on bringing cause a bit of trouble going through security.
Charlotte loved ice-skating and made some great progress!

Mabel getting some love from Dora and Zeke.
Swimming at the Sportsplex
Charlotte and Grandma did a few laps in the big pool.
We had an unexpected overnight stay at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, but Charlotte loved the big waterslides.
And both girls enjoyed all the arcade games.

We made Russian Dolls at the Russian Icon Museum

And then the girls got to decorate cookies.

Celebrating Charlotte's Birthday:
Charlotte had been begging forever to go to Chuck E Cheese's, so we surprised her on December 17th with a trip to the movies to see Frozen, then Chuck E Cheese's for pizza and games, and then her present: a Kindle Fire.

At a friend's birthday party, wearing princess hats:

Christmas Cookies!

Christmas Eve and Charlotte's Birthday at Baka's:

Playing with a Science Kit she got for Xmas:

Mabel in her new snowsuit:

Ice Skating during Xmas Break:

Mabel was very excited to try skating and looked very cute, but only lasted about 10 minutes before she was done and told me "Next time, we're staying home Mama."
Charlotte however loves skating and has gone several times now.

Snow Days:
2 snow days in a row.  The girls got a little stir crazy and had to be inventive with their playing.  They made bunk beds out of the entryway table.
And used couch cushions and blankets to make a big bed in the living room for watching a movie.
