See the mention of Westford? Well, somehow we lucked out and managed to be in an area where power was never interrupted. But everything around us is a disaster. I tried to run some errands today and it was like driving through a maze trying to find enough open roads to get where I needed to go. It finally occurred to us to take a few pictures this morning, so here they are, 48 hours after the storm hit. Almost all the ice is melted, except a few spots here and there, mostly it's just trees, branches, and downed power lines wreaking havoc.

Charlotte expending a little energy outside:
Invariably, if I try to get her to go one way, she turns and goes in the opposite direction.
Is my family the only crazy one that does this? When undressing for bath time, take the shirt off only far enough that is over your head, then proceed to sing:
"Old Aunt Jemimah, look at your Uncle Jim
Down at the duck pond learnin' how to swim.
First he does the dog paddle, then he does the crawl,
Now he's down at the duck pond doing nothin' at all,
Glub glub."

Holy smoke!!!
Looking at that last picture, Charlotte looks awfully similar to a portrait of a certain mathematical nerd: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d7/Leonhard_Euler.jpg
Um, maybe the nerd is the person who actually thought of that portrait when looking at his daughter, hahaha.
Hahah! She's adorable! Holy cow at the ice storm!
