We ordered an organic, free-range turkey from Chestnut Farms this year (we get a monthly meat pick-up from them, and they raised the turkeys on an acre of sweet peas for their CSA members). It was the same price no matter what size bird you ordered, so thanks to a tip from Paddy we ordered a huge bird with the plan to cut in half and use half for Thanksgiving and half for Christmas. The only thing we hadn't really thought through was how to cut a 33lb turkey in half. No worries, in case anyone was wondering, a reciprocating saw does a fabulous job!

It was a delicious turkey, and the other half is sitting tight in the freezer awaiting Christmas.
Last night Charlotte was stripped down and on her way to the bath, but she got sidetracked by my jeans.
