Gaylord, August 2012

A few pictures from our trip to Gaylord in late August:

We stopped at Niagara Falls on our way, and Charlotte was more impressed with the rainbows than the falls.

Mabel just wanted to climb the railings and drive us crazy.

After a few minutes of checking out the Falls and the rainbows, Charlotte professed that she was done, so we crossed the street to run around in the grass and the girls spent a long time climbing around on Nikola Tesla:

The obligatory trip to Call of the Wild.  This is a blurry picture, but it shows Mabel doing her hilarious pouty-slump-walk.  If she doesn't like something, she hunches her shoulders and walks away.

Charlotte was an old-pro with the animals this time and even did several of the Scavenger Hunt sheets provided for kids:

Great-Uncle Gray was brave enough to volunteer to read the bedtime story one night.  Layne and Charlotte loved their nightly "sleepovers" in Grandma and Grandpa's big bed.

Big News!  Charlotte lost her first tooth.  It fell out while she was eating an apple and luckily Grandpa found it on the floor.  Charlotte insists that the tooth-fairy does indeed exist, and it brings new toothbrushes in exchange for teeth, so who were we to refuse that?

Charlotte was very eager to take the kayaks out, so she and Daddy went for a paddle and she got the hang of it very quickly:

Jumping on the trampoline, and amazingly neither one fell over the side, though Grandma was patrolling in the kayak just in case:
